Ed Sheeran is considering a career change as he gained control of Thor’s hammer.
The musician, 31, is a big kid at heart and was blown away with the opportunity this week to meet Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and trick him into giving him the iconic weapon.
Well, we say ‘trick,’ really it was a trade-off, but as Ed himself put it, ‘I think I got the better end of the deal.’
Shivers singer Ed shared a video to Instagram on Friday of himself and Chris meeting up and swapping the tools of their trade, with Ed claiming Thor’s hammer and Chris getting one of Ed’s guitars.
‘I’m really into trading trade tools for trade tools, so I’m going to give one of my guitars in return for someone else’s tool,’ Ed explains at the beginning of the video.
And suddenly, Chris appears, declaring he is ‘really into trade tools’ as well.

The duo then meet up and swap their gifts, with Chris looking slightly awestruck at being handed Ed’s guitar.
Which is nothing compared to Ed’s reaction at being handed Chris’ own ‘weapon of choice’ – Thor’s hammer.
It turns out Ed is a worthy owner of the hammer as he picked it up without a bother, and instantly began geeking out as he posed with it for the camera.
The famous pair signed each other’s gifts, making it all the more special, with Ed joking: ‘I think we should trade professions.’
You never know where Ed will show up net these days as he jets around the world like, well, a superhero.

Recently the star appeared in an Instagram video alongside Friends star Courteney Cox, serenading her while she sat barefoot in the grass to celebrate her company being in business for a year.
And in a sweet gesture, the star took a break from his massive world tour to visit schools in Auckland, New Zealand, calling it ‘one of my favourite days on tour.’
Ed, who has two children of his own, surprised three different schools in the area to perform some of his greatest hits for the shocked school kids.
Alongside a video montage, he wrote: ‘Spent a day surprising school kids in 3 different schools in Auckland. I had so much fun, couldn’t stop smiling all day thank you for having me ! And for the wonderful Pounamu, it was an honour.’
Following gigs in Auckland, Ed travelled to Australia, where he is set to delight crowds in Brisbane, Sydney, Richmond, Adelaide and Burswood, before heading over to Texas to kick off the US leg of his tour, which will take him all over until September 2023.

This picture divided Chris Hemsworth’s followers (Picture: @chrishemsworth/Instagram)
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky divided fans after they posted a picture of the latter pushing their son’s face into his birthday cake.
The picture sees Chris, 39, watch on with his hands on his hips and a smile as his wife Elsa, 46, with the help of daughter India, playfully pushed their son’s head into a chocolate cake.
The family appeared to be laughing and smiling in what looked to be a light-hearted atmosphere for their twin sons, Tristan and Sasha’s, birthday celebrations.
Shoving the birthday celebrant’s face into their cake after taking a bite is called ‘la mordida’ and is a Mexican tradition usually carried out by a parent.
Taking a bite of the cake without any utensils is supposed to be good luck.
Alongside the picture of the scene, the Thor actor wrote: ‘Happy 9th birthday to my two little men! Only one way to eat cake in this house and that’s to have mum slam your head into it face first!!

“Hey mum I don’t like chocolate cake I prefer vanilla” “oh really son, what about now”?’
‘It’s so violent,’ chimed in a third, while others disagreed, as one responded: ‘Because it’s funny and a family tradition and it give kids a memory to laugh at and then the look forward to it happening to their siblings and they share the joy. Just a bit of basic humour….. they look like they are having a good time together.’
A second person agreed as they said: ‘It’s a tradition. Let people be happy 🙄’.
‘Violent? It’s a bit of play!’ another person said, ‘Those kids are gonna grow up able to take a joke not be some little fairy who thinks having their head dipped in frosting is violent’.
But some people weren’t so convinced: ‘Does anyone here want cake all over their face? Didn’t think so. Why would your kid? And it’s so wasteful. So you’re just going to throw a perfectly good cake away after the stupid not funny prank?’
Others were simply worried about the cake, as one concerned individual asked: ‘Please tell me you didn’t waste a whole cake? Lol.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s reps for comment.

The star is known for his high-profile roles (Picture: AP/Chris Hemsworth/Instagram)
Chris Hemsworth is one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood today.
Thanks to his popular and – so far – career defining role as superhero (and Norse god) Thor in several Marvel blockbusters, the 39-year-old is often in tip-top shape physically.
From his roots in Australia on soap Home and Away as Kim Hyde, the actor has also impressed in roles in Extraction, Men in Black: International and Rush among many others over the past.
However, recent reports have suggested that Hemsworth is set to take a step back in the industry and will be taking on fewer acting roles after learning he was at ‘high risk’ of Alzheimer’s disease, a gradually progressive illness.
When did Chris Hemsworth find out he was pre-disposed to Alzheimer’s?

Hemsworth discovered he could be vulnerable in later life to the degenerative disease while he filmed his National Geographic and Disney Plus docuseries Limitless, which came out at the end of 2022.
Sources now say that even though he is planning to keep an eye on a reduced Hollywood workload, he is not considering early retirement for the sake of his health.
An insider told Page Six that the star ‘doesn’t plan to take on many roles because of (learning about his high risk of) Alzheimer’s’ after he finishes four upcoming projects, which include reprising his Thor role in an upcoming Avengers sequel, Secret Wars, and a part in an untitled biopic of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.
One in four people carry a single copy of the gene, but only 2 to 3% of the population have both, according to a 2021 study by the National Institutes of Health.
The actor told Vanity Fair back in November that he is ‘not talking about retiring by any means’ due to his Alzheimer’s warning.
But he admitted to the magazine there was an ‘intensity’ in ‘navigating’ the test results that showed he was at high risk of the disease.
He stressed it was not a diagnosis and only a sign the neurodegenerative condition is more likely to be in his future than it is for most other people.
Hemsworth explained: ‘Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death. Then to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to this as the route which is going to happen, the reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.’
The actor also said learning he’s ‘eight to 10 times more likely’ to battle Alzheimer’s than others had ‘triggered something in me to want to take some time off’.
He added: ‘I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do.’
Among them is a plan to ‘go home and… to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify’, as well as ‘be with the kids, be with my wife’.
What is Alzheimer’s?

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive condition that affects multiple brain functions and causes memory loss, according to the NHS.
It is the most common cause of dementia in the UK, but the exact cause of Alzheimer’s disease is not yet fully understood – although a number of things are thought to increase your risk of developing the condition.
What’s your favourite role of Chris Hemsworth’s?Comment Now
These include, increasing age, a family history of the condition, untreated depression (although depression can also be one of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease) and lifestyle factors and conditions associated with cardiovascular disease.
The first sign of Alzheimer’s disease is usually minor memory problems, such as forgetting about recent conversations or events, and forgetting the names of places and objects.
As it develops, symptoms can become more severe and include confusion and disorientation, problems moving and with speech, personality changes, low mood or anxiety and hallucinations.
Alzheimer’s disease is most common in people over the age of 65, affecting an estimated 1 in 14 people over the age of 65 and 1 in every 6 people over the age of 80.
But around 1 in every 20 people with Alzheimer’s disease are under the age of 65. This is called early- or young-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

It isn’t quite business as usual as he is personally requested for the outing, with questions over why the client wants him leading the way.
‘You were clinically dead nine months ago but you survived, you fought your way back,’ Tyler is told. ‘You just have to find out why.’
Chris Hemsworth has reprised his role as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2 (Picture: Netflix)
A series of action-packed scenes showing him fighting anyone standing in his way – including one wild sequence where he’s battling someone while on fire.
Well, if anyone can…
If that wasn’t enough, we also got a glimpse into the wild 21-minute ‘one-shot’ action scene that Chris teased over the weekend.
The all-too-brief trailer ends with Tyler cryptically warning: ‘You told me to find the reason I fought my way back. Let’s find out.’
The action sequel will land on Netflix next month (Picture: Netflix)
Chris whipped us all up into a frenzy this week when he tweeted: A single shot oner that clocks in at 21 minutes.
‘You heard that right. Prepare for the ride of your life!! EXTRACTION 2 TRAILER TOMORROW!’
Fans were living for the footage and flocked to Twitter to share their excitement ahead of the premiere.

A follower penned: ‘By Thors hammer, this looks good!’
Another praised: ‘Pumped for this one. The action in #Extraction2 looks unreal! that camerawork!’
As a Twitter user added: ‘Loved the first movie, can’t wait for June already #Extraction2.’
Chris was actually set on fire for the film (Picture: Getty)
The official synopsis reads: ‘After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.’
Sam Hargrave will be serving as director once again, with Joe Russo writing the script.
Chris is joined by former co-stars Golshifteh Farahani and Adam Bessa, who have returned as Nik Khan and Yaz Khan respectively.
While Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili have also joined in the fun.
Sam previously revealed that they well and truly raised the stakes for Tyler’s second outing – and actually set Chris on fire to achieve one shot.
‘Hats off to Chris. It wasn’t CG fire. And he had to do it over and over,’ he told Empire. ‘I don’t know a lot of people, let alone Hollywood A-listers, who are going to let you light them on fire while on camera.
‘We lit Chris Hemsworth on fire, and he beat up a bunch of guys all night. It was pretty incredible to watch.’
Extraction 2 is released on Netflix on June 16.

We bet Chris Hemsworth didn’t expect this reaction when he posted his fitness video (Picture: Instagram/chrishemsworth)
Chris Hemsworth’s recent gym session video gained a little more traction than perhaps he’d initially anticipated.
But it wasn’t the Australian actor’s squats, press-ups, or even his abs, that got fans talking.
It was the 39-year-old’s, er, – how to put it politely – bulge, that left his followers gawking at their screens.
In what was a string of absolutely hysterical reactions, fans lapped up the moment to share their awe of the Australian.
Alongside the video post, in which the Thor actor jumps, squats, boxes, boasts some impressive press-ups, pull-ups and, er, other gym stuff, he wrote: ‘Good little session. Finishing it strong with some core 💪.’
But fans bypassed his defined torso; they didn’t mention how cool his hat looked on backwards; and they didn’t notice his technically sublime shapes.
It got off to a great start with some impressive punching (Picture: Instagram/chrishemsworth)
He looks to be an expect on the, er, whatever that is (Picture: Instagram/chrishemsworth)
But it all started to get a bit graphic when Chris moved to work on his ‘core’ (Picture: Instagram/chrishemsworth)
Oh my (Picture: Instagram/chrishemsworth)
It was all looking pretty standard, admirable even, until Chris got on the floor for some ‘core’ – whatever that means – and lifted his leg up to reveal his crotch outline in full force.
‘Are seeing what I’m seeing?’ asked one of Chris’ 56.4million followers, while another said, ‘Are we seeing it or just ignoring it?’
It appears no one was ignoring the big it, as others made several, really very good, jokes about Thor’s hammer.
‘Watched it multiple times…’ began one person, ‘that last exercise I swear I could see Thor’s hammer.’
Chris is most famous for his role as Thor and he’s one of the biggest names in Hollywood (Picture: Getty Images for AFI)
‘So they let you keep the hammer?’ asked another.
Of course, the Marvel star is used to keeping in top shape as over the years he has starred as Norse god Thor in several blockbusters.

But luckily, the Avengers actor doesn’t take himself too seriously, as he took to Instagram after he was busted to share his amusement with fans.
Alongside a crystal clear photo of the hilarious moment Chris exposed the scrawl, he wrote: ‘After years of coming to Spain and being asked “has my Spanish improved” I can safely say it’s in the palm of my hand.
‘Thanks so much to everyone who turned up for the Extraction 2 premiere.’
There’s even a wild 21-minute ‘one shot’ action scene that Chris teased last month.
This comes after recent reports announced the Thor star is set to take a step back from Hollywood after learning he was at ‘high risk’ of Alzheimer’s disease.
Elsa and Chris share three children together; daughter India, 10, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, nine.

Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran may have the most surprising new celebrity bromance but we’re into it (Picture: Getty)
Chris Hemsworth has made no secret that he’s a big fan of singer Ed Sheeran but the love seems to be mutual as the A-Team singer was one of the star guests at the premiere for the actor’s new film Extraction 2.
After travelling to New Jersey for his third Ed Sheeran concert this year, the Aussie actor confessed he is slightly obsessed with the British singing superstar.
Chris, 39, is such a big fan he even called himself a ‘stalker’, but joked that that’s what his ‘mate’ Ed, 32, calls him too.
In an Instagram post, Chris shared a video of the pair meeting backstage along with Matt Damon as well as clips from the concert, including a little excited cheer from the almighty Thor.
Who knew he was so into the catchy pop tunes and ballads of Suffolk’s biggest star?
He gushed: ‘Saw Ed Sheeran for the 3rd time this year. Some say I’m a super fan, others say I’m a borderline stalker… mostly Ed says that actually, but hey I’m just a really supportive mate.🤷♂️😂
‘Congrats on breaking stadium records once again, champ!🙏’
And on Monday, the Australian actor was in town for the New York premiere of his new film Extraction 2, which is set to be released on Netflix later this week on Friday, June 16.
It appears that Ed seems to be stalking him back as the hitmaker rocked up to the premiere in green cargo trousers and a white T-shirt, posing for photos and greeting fans and having a jolly good time.
The film is a sequel to Netflix’s Extraction (2020) and sees the return of Chris as Tyler Rake, a mercenary, with Olga Kurylenko, Idris Elba, and Daniel Bernhardt joining the cast.

Actress Golshifteh Farahani stunned in a floor-length red gown and slicked-back hair while director of both films, Sam Hargreaves, sported a double-breasted blue suit.
New and returning cast members smiled for pictures together, including Marvel director Anthony Russo who helped pen the graphic novel Ciudad that Extraction is based on.
As well as the cast and Chris’ newfound friend Ed, the actor’s brothers Liam and Luke Hemsworth also attended to show some support.
He wrote ‘Estoy muy feliz de estar en España,’ which translates to: ‘I’m very happy to be in Spain.’
All three brothers were subtly coordinated, possibly unintentionally, with Chris in a dapper dark grey suit and white shirt which Luke mimicked in his styling of his plaid tan suit, again with a white shirt.

Liam kept to the neutral colour scheme, dressing things down in a casual sand-coloured co-ord with a white t-shirt underneath his open jacket.
He walked hand in hand with Gabrielle, who he has been linked to since 2019 and was wearing a chic black dress with a deep v-neck cut.
Other stars such as Adam Bessa and twins Mariam and Marta Kovziashvili also were in attendance, with the girls dressed in matching outfits complete with giant white bows on the front.
Jonathan Cheban, often seen with The Kardashians, also stopped by while Real Housewives Of New Jersey star, Danielle Cabral, stunned in an all-white outfit.
The cast gathered together before entering the Lincoln Centre screening but there appeared to be no reunion for growing mates Chris and Ed before the show.

Thor actor Chris, 39, and The Hunger Games’ Liam, 33, jetted off on the sunny getaway with their families, including Chris’ wife Elsa Pataky, 46, and Liam’s girlfriend Gabriella Brooks, 22.
Good Will Hunting star Matt, 52, appeared to be in great spirits as he enjoyed a sweet moment with his wife Luciana Barroso, 46, as they danced while savouring a drink.
The Oppenheimer actor gazed lovingly at his spouse, with whom he tied the knot in 2005.
The pair both cut a casual figure while on their getaway, with Matt spotted in a white linen shirt and black shorts, while Luciana rocked linen trousers and a white crop top.
The gang carried on the fun as Chris and Liam posed for pictures with Matt, showing off their muscles during their sun-soaked Greek holiday, with Chris cheekily flipping the bird to the camera in one snap.

In 2013, Chris Hemsworth played Formula 1 champion James Hunt (Picture: Getty, Universal Pictures, PitStop podcast)
Formula 1 champion James Hunt’s son Freddie has made it clear he wasn’t a fan of the way Chris Hemsworth played his dad in the 2013 biopic Rush.
Chris, 39, starred alongside Daniel Brühl in Rush, which spotlighted James Hunt and Niki Lauda’s rivalry during the 1976 Formula One season and was directed by Ron Howard.
Speaking in a new interview, James – who is also a racing driver – praised Daniel’s take on Niki but made it crystal clear he didn’t like Chris’ impersonation of his dad.
‘I don’t know if I should be upset with Chris or Ron Howard because he basically played dad like a t**t,’ said 36-year-old Freddie.
He added on the Pitstop podcast: ‘I don’t know if it’s due to his poor acting or he was directed to play that way.
‘Daniel Brûhl who played Niki did an absolute masterpiece.’
James – who is also a racing driver – praised Daniel’s take on Niki but made it crystal clear he didn’t like Chris’ impersonation of his dad (Picture: Pitstop podcast)
Freddie went on: ‘He actually asked Niki if he could spend some time with him so he could learn his mannerisms and really get to know him.’
Speaking about playing James, who died in 1993, shortly after the film’s release, Chris told the Guardian: ‘It was a reminder of why I fell in love with acting.
‘Everything’s there to support you as an actor and the character and the intimacy of that story.

‘And it was refreshing to be able to spend all the time on that and not be sidetracked by special effects and spectacle.’
In November, Chris told Vanity Fair of his plans to ‘go home and have a good chunk of time off and just simplify’, as well as ‘be with the kids, be with my wife’.

Former Emmerdale star Max Parker has been speaking about the moment Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth caught him picking his nose while going to the toilet.
Max detailed the time Chris Hemsworth managed to unlock his cubicle door and found him in an embarrassing position.
He wrote of the Marvel star: ‘Chris Hemsworth somehow opened my locked cubicle door and caught me pissing whilst picking my nose. Imma treasure that moment.’
Whoops!
He shared the encounter on Threads (Picture: Max Parker/Threads)
Max portrayed the role of Luke from 2019-2021. His departure came after Luke thought he had a part to play in the death of his brother and rapist Lee, which left Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) wondering why he allowed Robert Sugden to take the fall.

Chris Hemsworth celebrated his 40th in epic style (Picture: SplashNews.com)
Chris Hemsworth has officially entered his forties and he’s in better shape than ever.
The Australian actor celebrated the big 4-0 on August 11 in super chilled style, accompanied by younger brother Liam Hemsworth, 33, for a morning surf.
Chris, Liam, and pals flocked to Byron Bay to catch some waves – and while we’re no experts, they seem to have the surfing thing nailed, honestly.
Taking to the crystal clear waters, the acting duo were on absolute top form as they cruised over the waves on their boards.
Amongst the Hemsworths’ pals was surfer Owen Wright, who appeared to gift Chris a copy of his autobiography as the cheekiest birthday pressie.
Of course, donning wetsuits meant the guys were able to show off their incredibly toned physiques, with Chris’s gym-honed abs on full display.

40? More like ‘PHwoarrrTY’ (Picture: SplashNews.com)
We feel a ‘PHwoarrrTY’ pun is justified here, as the Thor star looked seriously ripped.
The famous siblings were all smiles following their refreshing morning dip, sporting casual tees and baseball caps as they chatted by the car.
Lil bro Liam – who sports an impressive beard – later changed from his wetsuit into a white shirt and kept a towel around his waist to dry off.
Naturally, social media has been flooded with birthday wishes for Chris, with some in disbelief over the age he was turning.
‘Can’t believe he’s 40 omg’, one fan wrote.

‘No way he is 40, he looks 29’, tweeted another.
It’s no surprise that Chris chose to kick off his birthday weekend with a surf, as the Aussie movie star has spoken at length about his love for the sport.
Previously, he admitted it’s ‘one of the few things that holds my attention completely.’
Speaking to GQ, he said: ‘There’s a cleansing every time I get in the water. If I’m having some sort of inner conflict or turmoil, it’s the one place I go. There’s a feeling of starting again.’
As for the rest of his workout regime, well, Chris certainly puts in the work.

What a way to start your birthday weekend (Picture: SplashNews.com)
He maintains his chiselled physique with a range of exercises, including boxing, press-ups, pull-ups, and squats.
The Marvel favourite often shares his workouts on social media, with one memorable post earlier this year showing how he’s racked up over 200 minutes in total holding his breath underwater.
His videos are very often a treat for the eyes, as none of his 57million followers seem to mind getting a glimpse inside his gym antics.
Outside of the gym, though, Chris has been married to Snakes on a Plane actress Elsa Pataky, 47, since 2010, so he’s officially off the market.
Fans were last able to see Chris on their screens in Netflix’s Extraction 2, and, in April this year, it was announced that h will voice a younger Optimus Prime in Transformers prequel film Transformers One, which will mark his first animated feature film.
There’s no end to his talents.

The video Elsa shared on her Instagram basically summed up everyone’s feelings during the World Cup, as she jumped up and down while screaming in the stands.

‘That’s exactly the face a made when I turned 40 my love,’ she jokingly wrote.
‘But don’t worry, it’s gonna be ok! I’ll be here for you too hold your hand and give you all my beauty secrets., 🤣, even if you look better than ever.

The Marvel star took to Instagram on Wednesday where he first shared a snap of the inside of a small wooden sauna, giving his best blue steel to the camera as he sweated it out.
Next up was a video clip of Chris clambering into an ice bath, breathing deeply as the shocking cold water hit his system.
And while it appeared to be a struggle to stay submerged, Chris insists the pros far outweigh the cons.
Chris started out with a relaxing sauna (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
He then barely hesitated before getting into a freezing cold bath (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
It didn’t look easy, with Chris taking huge steadying breaths as he submerged himself in the icy water (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
He wrote there was ‘no better way to finish a workout’ than to ‘combine a sauna with an ice bath.’
It’s ‘an effective way to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, speed up muscle recovery and elevate your mood.’
He explained: ‘The heat from the sauna causes blood vessels to dilate, which improves blood flow and reduces inflammation. The cold from the ice bath causes blood vessels to constrict, which improves circulation and reduces muscle soreness.
‘This contrast between hot and cold temperatures helps to improve overall recovery and reduce the risk of injury.’
Chris’ video proved popular with fans – not least because eagle-eyed followers notice the ice bath was from a company called Odin, and, naturally, the Thor references came thick and fast.
The star insists there’s ‘no better way to finish a workout’ (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
‘Thor is chilling in Odin’s tub,’ one commenter laughed, while another agreed it was a ‘brilliant name.’
‘You see the name on that? That’s my dad’s!’ another joked.
Many said the same thing, excited by the unintentional Marvel reference, with none declaring: ‘Can we talk about thought that he is using an ice bath with the name Odin on the front of it (sic)!’
Eagle-eyed fans noticed the Odin logo on the bath, labeling it ‘ironic’ as he plays the son of Odin in the Marvel movies (Picture: Rex/Shutterstock)
And the official Odin Ice Bath accounts even got in on the fun, writing: ‘Making me proud son!’
Plenty of people appreciated the semi-scientific explanation of the benefits of an ice bath, but most were willing to ‘take your word for it’,’ and wouldn’t be trying it themselves.
It’s clear, though, that Chris knows what he’s doing when it comes to building muscle mass, as earlier this month he showed off his incredibly buff physique while surfing to celebrate his 40th birthday.
Spotted catching waves with brother Liam Hemsworth of The Hunger Games fame, the pair were on top form as they cruised along Byron Bay on their boards.
The Marvel favourite often shares his workouts on social media, with one memorable post earlier this year showing how he’s racked up over 200 minutes in total holding his breath underwater.

The star celebrated turning 40 earlier this month and proved age was just a number, showing off his impeccable shape with a series of exercise clips.
In the clip that garnered plenty of interactive attention online, the actor was working out alongside ultra-marathon sea swimmer Ross Edgley, 37.
He endured multiple exercise routines in a sunny location and took his training outdoors with sprint intervals, ropes, medicine balls and body-weighted movement.
Chris captioned his video with an explanation as to what he had been getting up to in the gym after his milestone birthday.
He penned: ‘Doing a lot less heavy weight sessions lately and incorporating sprint work and more functional movements.

‘A solid full body workout routine. Feeling good And in case you’re wondering yes I left @rossedgley in the dust…..um well maybe, unfortunately the camera ran outta film so we’ll never know for certain @centrfit.’
Underneath the sweaty video, fans flocked to the comment section to praise the star on his ripped physique and fitness progress.
Training partner Ross teased: ‘The only person I know who’s muscle fibres are becoming MORE fast twitch and powerful with each slice of birthday cake.’
A fan hinted: ‘Why I had a feeling that when u start workout, we are going to see another blockbuster movie.’

Another admitted: ‘I watch avengers just because of him,’ while a separate account wrote: ‘So beautiful sir’.
The movie star’s workout footage came after he shared images scoffing birthday cake in celebration of turning 40 years old.
On August 11th, Chris hit the milestone and updated fans with a series of pictures of himself sat at a table behind two huge cakes and a smaller cupcake.
His caption read: ‘Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Another lap around sun and still goin strong! I can safely say not a single piece of cake made it through the night.’
The star was dressed in a grey beanie hat and held up a knife ready to cut into his birthday spoils in honour of the big day.

Say hello to Chris Hemsworth’s V-line muscles (Picture: Media-Mode/SplashNews.com)
Just in case you have any doubts, Chris Hemsworth is here to remind you that he is absolutely ripped.
The Australian actor, who recently celebrated his 40th birthday, gave people a glimpse of his razor-sharp V-line as he headed out for a surf in Byron Bay.
Lifting up his shirt, the Thor star’s adonis belt muscles were on full display.
The Marvel star kept it casual in a black tee and baseball cap and was seen chatting on the phone before heading for a dip.
He changed into his wetsuit and soon showed the waves who was boss, having become somewhat of a surfing pro since taking up the hobby.

…but not before showing off his incredibly toned physique, of course (Picture: Media-Mode/SplashNews.com)
Accompanied by younger brother Liam, 33, the incredibly buff movie star proved he’s in better shape than ever as he enters his forties.
Photos captured the siblings tackling the waves with force, on absolute top form on their boards.
Gym fanatic Chris has actually spoken in the past about his love of surfing.

Speaking of his love for the gym, Chris is known to bring fans along for his workouts with some sweaty Instagram videos.
Most recently, the Aussie favourite filmed himself powering through a gruelling workout alongside ultra-marathon sea swimmer Ross Edgley, 37.
Chris nailed many exercises – all outdoors in a sunny location – including sprints, ropes, medicine balls, and weights.
Fortunately, Chris and his brood didn’t have to travel too far, given that the final between England and Spain took place Down Under.

It’ll come as no surprise that he was cheering for eventual winners Spain, given this his long-time partner and actress Elsa Pataky, 47, is Spanish.
The couple were joined by their three children – daughter India Rose and twin boys Sasha and Tristan – as they sported their team’s kit and cheered them on, all the way to victory.

Chris Hemsworth has posted video clips of his sons having the best time ever on their dirt bikes, showing off their best moves.
The Thor actor, 40, was joined by his younger brother Liam, 33, as they watched his boys drive around excitedly on the grass.
Twins Sasha and Tristan, nine, were all kitted up in the appropriate protective gear including helmets, padded gloves and boots as they tried out some pretty daring stunts – proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with their action hero dad.
Extraction 2 star Chris filmed one of his boys warning his uncle to stay out of the way before he performed an impressive wheelie, with Liam heard exclaiming ‘blimey!’ and laughing while Chris panned the camera to his face and shouted over: ‘That’s good son, well done.’
He also shared a slow-motion clip of his sons performing a daring trick together, which saw one lie on the floor as the other raced up a verge and jumped over him on the bike, among other leaps on the motorised bikes.
The star, who is looking to step back from his Hollywood roles, attracted praise for his parenting in the comments, with one follower responding: ‘I love how you parent letting boys be boys!!❤️[sic]’
‘Excellent, I love to see kids doing this,’ added another while someone else branded it ‘good Aussie fun’.
‘Daredevil, like his dad. Good to see a dad not wrapping his kids in cotton wool,’ chimed in someone else.

Another person joked: ‘I think we’re bout [sic] the same age but do you wanna be my dad? Lol.’
Fellow Marvel actor Josh Brolin also shared his approval in the comments, leaving a string of flame emoji.
However, not everyone was as convinced with the activity and its safety for his young sons.
‘I feel like Elsa must still be on her girls’ trip…,’ shared one fan in a pointed comment, while another asked: ‘Does your wife watch this ???😂😂😂’

‘Thank God the boy isn’t doing anything dangerous,’ wrote someone else, rather sarcastically.
Chris recently sent fans swooning with another of his workout videos after turning 40 – proving age is very much just a number as he put even the fittest people to shame as he worked out with ultra-marathon sea swimmer Ross Edgley, 37.

Chris Hemsworth was set to play Hulk Hogan in the biopic (Picture: Marvel Studios/WWE)
Hulk Hogan has claimed a bizarre ‘business glitch’ means his Netflix biopic is looking for a new home.
The WWE Hall of Famer’s life was set to be turned into a blockbuster on the streaming giant with Chris Hemsworth taking on the role of the musclebound wrestler, but there have been very few updates for a long time now.
‘Yes, I do [have an update]. So it was a situation where business-wise, Netflix kind of like missed the date, you know, as far as a business situation. And so I had the choice at that time to switch gears,’ he told Insight With Chris Van Vliet.
Hogan has admitted he was excited about the project, which was written by Scott Silver and set to be directed by Todd Phillips, but an unspecified ‘glitch’ means the agreement has fallen apart.
‘I just thought, “Whoa”, but all of a sudden there was a business glitch, you know, and then they tried to fix it a few days later. And I’d already decided to move on. So, my life rights and stuff are somewhere else now,’ he teased.
Hogan has given a cryptic update on the biopic (Picture: WWE)
‘And there are a lot of things that are getting ready to happen. And hopefully, Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth will still want to play. But there’s still a huge opportunity there.’
There’s still so little we know about the movie, but it seems like Hogan was more than happy with the script, given who had been involved so far.
He said: ‘Scott Silver wrote the script, you know, he wrote The Joker and a bunch of different movies. And of course, Todd Phillips has done The Joker, Wolf of Wall Street and you know, whatever. All the crazy stuff that he did.’
He even compared the movie to classics like True Romance and The Godfather, but it remains to be seen when, or if, fans will get to see for themselves.
‘But yeah, the script came back. It was amazing,’ he added. ‘I mean, because my favorite movies are like Scarface, The Godfather, True Romance, it was there, it was there.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted Netflix for comment.

The Australian star carries two copies of the gene APOE4 – which studies have linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Since receiving the news, Hemsworth has revealed how he’s changed his lifestyle, after being told that he could die earlier as a result of Alzheimer’s.
‘I’ve always been pretty consistent with my exercise commitments, but lately, I’ve really felt the importance of taking time for yourself without any outside voice or stimulation and making time for stillness,’ he said during an interview with Men’s Health.
He also explained that he now focuses more on his brain health than the rigorous workout routines he is used to, and has introduced ‘more solitude’ into his life.

He continued: ‘My weight fluctuates a lot due to differing roles and also my own interests in regards to challenging my body in different ways.
‘I’m lifting less frequently than I was and I’m incorporating more cardio and endurance workouts which I much prefer than heavy body-building style sessions.’
Speaking to Dr Peter Attia on his Drive podcast, the Extraction star spoke about how he worried his health revelation would affect his family – including wife Elsa Pataky and their children India, 11, and twins Sasha and Tristan, nine.
‘It made me think about my kids and how they’re growing up and things are changing so dramatically, and I want to sit, I want to soak it in,’ he said.

The 40-year-old Thor actor enlisted the help of Michelin-trained chef Sergio Perera 10 years ago and has been calling on the Spaniard for advice on his diet ever since.
A close friend of the A-lister’s wife Elsa Pataky, 47, the cook earned himself a reputation for feeding some of the biggest names in Hollywood – including Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio.
On Wednesday, the celebrity chef disclosed his coveted secrets and let fans in on the recipes that were keeping Chris at optimum health.
He told News.com.au: ‘Obviously the guy is a big boy. He requires a lot of protein for the body he has.
‘When it comes to building muscle he just keeps it very clean with of a lot of barbecuing — like meats and vegetables — and keeping it Mediterranean which involves a lot of olive oil.’

Sergio continued: ‘One thing I did religiously with him, was every single day he would have one very large, hearty salad that consisted of raw and cooked vegetables, fermented products, nuts, seeds and a lot of good fats with a piece of steak or a big piece of fish.’
The famous foodie spilled information on what he asked Chris to eat ahead of his appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game.
He explained that the star’s day would begin with a large green smoothie consisting of leafy veg, nuts, fruits, seeds, fats and a hint of sea salt.
After guzzling down the nutritious drink, Chris’s next meal was a protein-packed snack of yoghurt, mixed berries, honey, almonds and chia seeds.
If he wasn’t in a yoghurt mood, the actor’s bowl would be swapped for a plate of wholegrain toast and eggs with Vegemite and avocado.
Post-workout, Chris earned himself a vegetable protein shake made with ice water, vitamin C and BCAAs.
Before bed, the dad of three chowed down on some white fish, roasted vegetables and a big healthy salad.

Chris’s motivation to eat well extends beyond his movie roles as he recently discovered he could be prone to Alzheimer’s while filming for his TV show.

Despite gaining a reputation for savagely axing its own content, there are still thousands of undiscovered gems on the global streamer.
While the majority of Netflix’s offerings, including the Justin Timberlake-starring Reptile, attract millions of viewers, some are released to much less fanfare and may not have caught your eye.
However, many of these films and TV shows go on to win critical acclaim and dedicated fan bases – you just have to hunt them down first.
Fortunately, we’ve done that hard work for you and have unearthed a host of treasures you may have skipped.
From a ‘brilliant’ thriller starring a Hollywood icon that was ‘under-marketed’ to a 2016 film now becoming a cult classic, here are the seven thrillers on Netflix you may have slept on.
A Nearly Normal Family (2023)
Viewers became obsessed with Swedish show, A Nearly Normal Family, with many admitting they’d binged the entire series in one sitting.
‘Y’all need to watch this!! Finished in a day,’ one fan raved on Reddit.
Based on M. T. Edvardsson’s novel, A Nearly Normal Family follows the Sandell family, lawyer Ulrika (Lo Kauppi), priest Adam (Bjorn Bengtsson), and their teenage daughter Stella.
Their lives are turned upside down when Stella (played by Alexandra Karlsson Tyrefors) is charged with the murder of her boyfriend, 15 years her senior.
Across the six-part series, Stella’s and her parents’ lives unravel as their own secrets are revealed, while they try to keep their picture-perfect family together and protect their daughter.
Meanwhile, viewers are left trying to figure out whether Stella really is the murderer, or if she’s been wrongly accused.
Locked In (2023)
Rose Williams stars in this new Netflix romantic thriller (Picture: Netflix / Avalon)
When British thriller Locked In landed on Netflix, it became the streamer’s most-watched film, notching up 17.8 million views in one week, according to What’s On Netflix.
The story follows a nurse investigating how one of her patients – who was hit by a car and left only able to communicate via blinking – ended up there.
Through her blinks, Katherine (Famke Janssen) reveals to her carer Nicky (Anna Friel) that a murder has taken place.
What ensues is a series of flashbacks to Katherine’s life before the incident, and before she adopted her late best friend’s daughter, Lina (Rose Williams).
The story follows a nurse who is investigating the injuries of one of her patients (Picture: Netflix / Avalon)
Lina looks up to Katherine and quickly forms a bond with her chronically ill son, Jamie (Finn Cole), and they later marry.
Cracks begin to show as Jamie is the heir to his late father’s manor, where they all live, and relationships crumble.
As Lina forms a connection to Jamie’s doctor, Robert (Alex Hassell), Katherine’s life and family is plagued with tragedy which unravels throughout the 1h 37minute drama.
Viewers are raving about the ‘dark and atmospheric’ film, directed by Nour Wazzi, dubbing it a 10/10.
1899 (2022)
Multiple different languages are spoken in 1899, including English, German, French and Cantonese (Picture: Netflix)
While Netflix axed mystery thriller 1899 after just one season, angering viewers worldwide, it’s clear why this gripping tale drew such a fanbase.
The show even managed to break the Guinness World Record for ‘most scripted jump scares in a single television episode’, with an impressive 21 jump scares in the very first episode.
The series, starring Emily Beecham and Aneurin Barnard, follows a group of European migrants travelling from London on a steamship named Kerberos to start new lives in New York City.
But their odyssey takes an unexpected turn when they discover another migrant ship adrift on the open sea.
Raging about the cancellation, a fan on X, formerly known at Twitter, said: ‘I’m so confused, wasn’t 1899 one of the most watched shows Netflix released last year? there was a lot of talk in online spaces too. what the hell does a show have to reach to get another season at Netflix?’
Accused (2023)
Chaneil Kular delivered a powerful performance in Accused as Harri who becomes victim of a witchhunt (Picture: Netflix)
British home invasion thriller Accused seems to have escaped (pardon the pun) many viewers, despite achieving a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
From Boiling Point visionary Philip Barantini, the film follows a young Asian man, Harri (Chaneil Kular), who must survive the night when a group of vigilantes hunt him down at his parents’ isolated mansion after wrongfully identifying him as a terrorist who detonated a bomb on a London tube.
The drama feels alarmingly close to home as it explores xenophobia, racism, the power and perils of social media and online witchhunts, and inner-city realism.
After discovering the film on Netflix, one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Ok we’re all talking about the wrong home invasion film that came out this weekend, because Philip Barrantini (boiling point) just dropped an absolute banger on Netflix called.’
‘“Accused” on Netflix is phenomenal. Tense af but made me cry because of the sad reality,’ another weighed in.
Spiderhead (2022)
The Thor actor takes the lead in the dystopian thriller, which is based on George Saunders’ short story (Picture: Netflix)
‘I just watched #Spiderhead and I’m again angry that Netflix did nothing to market this movie. Although it won’t be for everyone, I really enjoyed it. It’s well directed, the soundtrack rules, and Chris Hemsworth absolutely BODIED this Easily my favorite performance of his,’ one X user fumed.
The dystopian thriller is based on George Saunders’ short story Escape from Spiderhead, and follows two inmates at a state-of-the-art prison as they form a bond while dealing with events of their past.
However, the institution is run by a visionary who experiments on his inmates with mind-altering drugs.
The Killer (2023)
The Killer sees Michael Fassbender in the title role (Picture: AP)
David Fincher’s latest nail-biting thriller The Killer came to Netflix earlier this month and viewers have already been calling it the ‘best film of the year.’
The film sees Michael Fassbender star as the titular killer who becomes embroiled in an international manhunt after a hit goes wrong.
Tilda Swinton, Sophie Charlotte, Monique Ganderton, Arliss Howard, and Charles Parnell also feature in the cast.
Fans, critics, and Hollywood stars – including horror icon Guillermo del Toro – have been quick to praise The Killer which currently boasts an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
On X, Guillermo wrote: ‘The Killer is a beautiful Bronson movie if penned by Sartre and filmed by Melville with the briskness of a Siegel. I simply love, love, love when Fincher swings with a mean genre beat. Nimble and clockwork precise and fun. The breeziest film I have seen in a long time. It’s great when you can see a film and a movie at the same time.’
Rebirth (2016)
Netflix bills its 2016 film Rebirth, which stars The Cabin in the Woods actor Fran Kranz, as a ‘twisted’ psychological thriller.
The film follows a white-collar suburban dad (Fran Kranz) who rekindles his friendship with long-lost college buddy Zack (Adam Goldberg), who has just finished a self-actualisation programme called Rebirth.
Zack convinces Kyle to join him on a weekend-long Rebirth retreat, handing over all his personal possessions, which starts ajourney down a bizarre rabbit hole of psychodrama, seduction, and violence.
‘Rebirth – a Netflix original – starring Adam Goldberg is a really great original film. Highly recommended,’ one viewer raved on X.

Marvel star Chris Hemsworth may be a father of free, but he’s not always called ‘dad’ (Picture: Getty)
Chris Hemsworth fans have been left surprised over the fact that his son doesn’t call the Thor actor ‘dad’, causing him to set the record straight.
The Hollywood star, 40, shares twin sons Tristan and Sasha, nine, with wife Elsa Pataky, 47, as well as 11-year-old daughter India.
Taking to Instagram, Chris, who until recently was set to play WWE legend Hulk Hogan in a biopic for Netflix, shared a video of himself fishing with his sons while on a family holiday in Fiji, where Tristan could clearly be heard not referring to his father by ‘dad’.
In fact, as the Extraction star grappled with his rod on the boat while struggling to reel in a fish, Tristan could be heard saying: ‘Come on, Chris. Come on – keep on fighting it!’
‘Why is his son calling him Chris 🤔’ asked baffled fan Anthony Tierney in the comments section, and it seemed many others were equally surprised.
‘Came to ask same question… what happened to Dad?’ pondered Andrea Scott in response, while user @fabulouspio suggested: ‘I feel it’s just a banter moment between them. Nothing serious.’

The actor was heard being called ‘Chris’ by his son (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
However, Nina Gibson disagreed, posting: ‘Disrespect calling your father by his name at that age. I have always heard Chris call his father dad.’
Australians in Chris’s comments also suggested the reason, with Tamara Craig explaining: ‘It’s an Aussie thing I guess. Many of us do that.’
‘Yep it’s an Aussie thing,’ chimed in Laura Shakespeare. ‘My kinds do it all the time. I tell them off but they just laugh.’
It appeared Chris noticed the confusion himself though, as he quickly leapt in to clarify what the situation was with his name.
‘If your [sic] wondering why my son calls me Chris it’s because I’m his BFF and true mates don’t call each other dad,’ he wrote in the caption.
Alongside pictures of him and Elsa on the boat, and with Chris’s eventual catch, herevealed: ‘My son wanted to catch a fish for the locals in Fiji and after 3 attempts and about 12 hrs at sea we pulled in this beauty. Fed the village for 3 days.’
He explained it was because him and his son are ‘BFFs’ (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
Chris’s wife Elsa Pataky was also glimpsed in the photos on their family holiday in Fiji (Picture: Instagram/Chris Hemsworth)
The daredevil actor was previously praised for ‘letting boys be boys’ as he allowed his sons to perform dangerous stunts on their dirt bikes – all under the supervision of him and their Hunger Games star Liam, 33, though of course.
Their tricks included wheelies and an instance where one lay on the floor as the other raced up a verge and jumped over him on the bike, among other leaps on the motorised bikes.
Alongside keeping very active to stay in impressive shape, Chris’s chef recently revealed what went into the star’s very strict diet.
His motivation to eat well also extends beyond his movie roles as he recently discovered he could be prone to Alzheimer’s while filming for his TV show.
The star took a genetic test while making Limitless with Chris Hemsworth last year and was shocked to learn he possessed a gene that could cause him to develop the disease.

After well over a decade together, the dad-of-three went a little rogue on the most romantic day of the year, jokingly revealing how ‘babies are made’.
Taking to Instagram, the 40-year-old posted a slow-mo video of his wife, 47, innocently swimming before he came up from behind and wrapped her in a huge hug.
‘Happy Valentine’s Day. This year I thought I’d share with you how babies are made in Australia,’ he captioned the footage.
‘It’s both a game of passion, love and intense sportsmanship where everyone one’s a winner. @elsapataky.’
Followers couldn’t get enough of the clip, but some revealed that they were ‘holding their breath’ until it ended – out of fear for Elsa.
‘This was really stressful lol,’ an Instagram user said, as one agreed: ‘I’m breathing for her!! The slow motion was taking too long.’
‘I held my breath for this entire video … I barely made it,’ another replied.
‘Not me having an anxiety attack that she needed air and he was preventing her from surfacing,’ a fan posted.

A commenter shared: ‘This is very cute but also giving me such a panic attack.’
‘The fact that I had a hard time breathing watching this is sad or funny,’ a social media follower penned. ‘I’m not sure yet lol. Did y’all ever come up for air?’
While many, many more took the opportunity to remind Chris that he is Thor, not Aquaman.
This isn’t the first time that Chris has raised eyebrows with his glimpses into family life with Elsa and their little ones.
In fact, in December the Marvel legend sparked confusion when he innocently posted a video as he went fishing with son Tristan – who could be heard referring to him as ‘Chris’ and not ‘dad’.
Clearly loving the action, the nine-year-old yelled: ‘Come on, Chris. Come on – keep on fighting it!’
Fans were left baffled by the use of his first name, with some branding it a sign of ‘disrespect’.
Having none of it, Chris addressed the confusion in the caption, adding: ‘My son wanted to catch a fish for the locals in Fiji and after 3 attempts and about 12 hrs at sea we pulled in this beauty. Fed the village for 3 days.
‘Ps if your wondering why my son calls me Chris it’s because I’m his BFF and true mates don’t call each other dad. [sic].’

However, this was never actually the case and instead, a bizarre misunderstanding where his planned time off was conflated with a discovery of a genetic risk factor.
While filming his documentary series Limitless for National Geographic, the Thor star underwent genetic testing which revealed he carried two copies of the APOE4 gene.
This gene has been flagged as a marker of risk for developing Alzheimer’s but is not a diagnosis in itself but the story began to spiral.
‘It really kind of p**sed me off because it felt like I had been vulnerable with something personal and shared this,’ he revealed to Vanity Fair.
‘No matter how much I said “This is not a death sentence,” the story became that I have dementia and I’m reconsidering life and retiring and so on.’
He was never diagnosed with Alzheimer’s (Picture: Gregory Harris/Vanity Fair)
Alzheimer’s disease is where the brain function deteriorates as cells shrink and die, impacting someone’s memory, thinking, behaviours and social skills.
The VF cover star reiterated that he is not retiring any time soon, having moved back home to Byron Bay, Australia, to spend more time with his family.
His family, including model wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids, relocated down under in 2015 while Marvel-mania was in full swing.
Chris found Hollywood a head trip as he would simultaneously wonder if he was overexposed but not famous enough.
While the Furiosa: Mad Max actor has had an impressive career so far he is looking at taking it all more seriously, as long as he doesn’t turn into an ‘overly self-important pretentious w***er’ in the process.
Chris headed home to Australia to slow down (Picture: Gregory Harris/Vanity Fair)
Despite having his gripes about the Alzheimer’s speculation, Chris did note that there was one ‘really funny’ comment at the bottom of an article.
He shared: ‘I hope Chris forgets he’s retiring and comes back.’
When the Extraction star first got the news, he overhauled his health and focused on his brain rather than brawn – although that’s not to say he’s let go of his six-pack.
Looking back on his blockbuster career so far, Chris also lamented the type-casting he has faced since moving from Aussie soaps to Marvel’s then-fledgling universe.
He shares his twin sons, nine, and daughter, 11, with wife Elsa Pataky (Picture: Don Arnold/WireImage)
He felt he was type-cast as the muscly action hero, which often have few internal complexities to work through, except for in Rush and now the Mad Max sequel.
Workouts shifted to target cardio fitness rather than pure muscle building, giving better all-around health results for the God of Thunder.
Previously, Chris has confessed how the news made him think more about his family life and how he wants to soak in the time with his kids.
In 2012, Elsa gave birth to their daughter India, 11, then two years later they welcomed twin sons Tristan and Sasha, nine.

Paul soaked up the sun in beautiful Byron (Picture: Paul Ewart, Blackbird Luxury Accomodation, Jess Kearney)
Sun-kissed days, glorious beaches, friendly, free-spirited locals, and a perennial summer ambience — Australia’s Byron Bay offers a holiday haven for both the A-list and mere mortals like me.
Positioned on Australia’s northern New South Wales coast, the idyllic town of Byron Bay has long been a destination for surfers, hippies and in-the-know holidaymakers in search of sun, sand and serenity.
However, these days the formerly sleepy collection of beach towns and cute hinterland villages is now a firm fixture on the international tourism map and many cite one man as the reason for Byron’s fame: Chris Hemsworth.
The iconic Cape Byron Bay Lighthouse (Picture: Destination NSW)
Despite being Australia’s hottest acting export — and earning hundreds of millions in the various Marvel franchises — the Hollywood hunk knows that there’s no place like home. Especially when your home is a $30 million pad right by the beach.
And while Chris is top of mind when it comes to A-listers who have opted to bliss out in Byron, there are plenty of others, in fact he’s just one of a growing list of celebrities taking up residence in the area.
The late Olivia Newton-John started the trend some 40 years when she brought a sprawling farm in the area, Natalie Imbruglia more recently was reported to have forked out $1.3 million for property in the Byron hinterland, and the area has wowed other Hollywood dwellers too with both Zac Efron and Matt Damon supposedly eyeing ups their very own Byron bolt holes.
Paul enjoyed the areas’s beautiful beaches (Picture: Paul Ewart)
But then, given the area’s stunning scenery, its year-round tropical climate, and a foodie scene that would put any global capital to shame, is it really that surprising that there’s A-list appeal? And thankfully, for those of us who don’t regularly grace the red carpet, a Hollywood-sized pay packet isn’t a prerequisite to getting some Byron bliss…
Be a beach bum
Centre stage of Byron’s is its beaches. In fact, there’s more than 25 miles of stretches of sand to choose from.
Main Beach is a local favourite (Picture: Destination NSW)
And the beach at Lennox Head is a great place to start. A National Surfing Reserve since 2007, the beach is home to one of the country’s most famous breaks. It also happens to be the next beach along from where a certain Aussie megastar has a sprawling mansion. Yep, Mr Thor himself. And given his passion for surfing, there’s a good chance you could be sharing a wave with the Hollywood megastar whenever he’s in town.
With a location directly opposite the beach, Shelter is your port of call for a slap-up breakfast or lunch. Celebrating the best of Byron’s local farmers, growers and artisans (the area is regarded as one of the country’s best food bowls with a bounty of amazing produce and producers), Shelter offers a menu of drool-worthy dishes where the ingredients are the star.
Shelter has stunning beachside views… (Picture: Shelter)
…and celebrates local produce (Picture: Shelter)
In keeping with the town’s alternative ethos, expect yummy superfood-packed salads, locally produced kombucha and locally roasted coffee, and dishes that easily rival the best eateries in London.
Handily for beach bums and surf hounds, Shelter also offers accommodation on its upper floors — rental accommodation with jaw-dropping ocean views, which means you can wake with a sunrise over a glistening ocean. How’s that for morning glory?
A gourmet getaway
Speaking of tasty eats, the entire Byron area (which collectively is known as the Northern Rivers) punches well above its weight in the culinary stakes.
Fast-becoming one of the most exciting foodie destinations in Australia, the wealth of amazing local produce here, coupled with a proximity to the ocean, and a burgeoning population of top-tier chefs, means that you’ll eat well from morning to night.
A short ride from Byron town, Harvest Newrybar is a destination in itself. For more than 15 years the husband and wife duo behind the original cafe have worked tirelessly to put the tiny historical township of Newrybar on the map with their ever-expanding venue.
Harvest is a restaurant, bakery and deli (Picture: Destination NSW)
Spread across a restaurant, historic bakery, and deli, a long lunch or dinner on their open verandah is an experience that will linger for years to come. Dishes, using native ingredients, include white anchovy, crostini, olive, parmesan crisp and crab spaghetti, soffritto, parsley.
It’s also a local hangout for another member of the Hemsworth clan — Hunger Games star, Liam, forked out $6.8million for a property in the same small town back in 2020, and is regularly spotted here, often with his family in tow.
Another long lunch staple is Raes on Wategos. A favourite with locals and visitors alike (partly due to its stunning location right next to the sand of Wategos Beach). Raes Dining Room serves up Mediterranean-inspired dishes in three-course or full-blown degustation menus.

Formed by three school friends, this new bespoke experience takes guests through the green rolling hills, fertile farmlands and eclectic hinterland towns to experience the local food scene at the source. Guided by local knowledge, regulars on their tailored itineraries include a crop to cup tour of Zentvelds Coffee Plantation and tastings at the family-run Cape Byron Distillery.
Spaghetti at Italian Pixie (Picture: Pixie Food and Wine)
Come night-time, make a beeline for Byron Bay’s newest dining precinct — one that would give any big city a run for its money — on Johnson Street where standout venues include the likes of all-day Italian eatery, Pixie Food and Wine, and Parisian-inspired, natural wine-focused bar and restaurant, Bar Heather, which just nabbed the ‘2024 New Regional Restaurant of the Year’ gong.

For a meal that pairs a cultural immersion with a culinary one, book a table at the First Nations owned, Karkalla Byron Bay where a native-inspired menu features locally foraged succulents, flowers, herbs and other regional produce that pays tribute to the area’s 50,000 or so years worth of Indigenous history.

Hit the hinterland
After feeding the body, it’s time to feed the soul. Byron Shire’s reputation for wellness has endured for decades and there’s a trove of options for every taste, from meditation and yoga retreats, to shamanic drumming workshops and ecstatic dancing classes. It’s no coincidence that this alternative healing centre was chosen as the filming location for Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers TV series.
The beautiful Byron Shire (Picture: Paul Ewart)
Crystal Castle is the embodiment of this Age of Aquarius sentiment. The result of one man’s lifetime passion for crystals, the attraction is a huge expanse of breathtaking gardens filled with towering Balinese statues and a collection of the biggest crystals in the entire world.
A hinterland highlight is the small town of Mullumbimby where Byron’s hippies of old decamped in search of a quieter pace and cheaper rents.
While in Mullum (that’s local speak for ‘Mullumbimby’) you can’t skip a soak at Kiva Spa. Hidden down a laneway, this literal oasis is a compact spa retreat of outdoor bubbling hot tubs, cold plunge pools, a Hammam-style steam room, and a wood-fired sauna.
There’s a range of massage options here, too. But for a spa experience that’s truly out of this world, head to Mullum’s recently opened The Banya.
Relax at Banya (Picture: Paul Ewart)
Part bathhouse, part restaurant, part bar, part sauna – the multi-million development comprises a literal oasis of outdoor bubbling hot mineral pools tubs, lap pool, cold plunge pools, Hammam-style steam room, and a beautiful wood-fired sauna, which combined makes for a blissful few hours.
There’s also an array of treatment options, a slick rooftop bar, and in-house restaurant, all designed to make for an indulgent morning or afternoon post-pampering.

Mullum also offers fab foodie fare with the likes of Ya Man Mullumbimby serving up a taste of Yemen and the Middle East in regional Australia, and Pink Lotus Eatery doing the same with a menu of Vietnamese delights that easily rival anything you’d eat in downtown Saigon.
Afterwards, wet your whistle at small-batch craft beer brewery, Wandana Brewing Co, where dedicated brewers uniquely ferment their creations to the sweet vibrations of music. Yep, you read correctly, the brewers actually play music 24/7 to the beer as it ferments in its tank.
Slumber in style
When it comes to world class accommodation options, Byron Shire punches well above its small town weight.
Paul and his partner relaxing in the Elements pool (Picture: Paul Ewart)
For a resort-style option, the family-friendly Elements of Byron boasts a beachfront location and several pristine pools, both flanked by fire pits and swim-up bars.
For a city-slicker 5-star option, Hotel Marvell is on hand. The newest hotel in Byron Bay, this chic boutique check-in opened in early 2023 and brought with it the town’s first rooftop bar and pool.
The stunning Hotel Marvell (Picture: Hotel Marvell)
In Mullumbimby Blackbird Byron is a design-lover’s dream. Set high in the hinterland, guests can take in spectacular views to Cape Byron and the gleaming Pacific Ocean beyond from the private decks of one of the trio of self-contained villas, or from the communal infinity magnesium mineral infinity pool.
Blackbird has stunning coastal views (Picture: Blackbird Luxury Accomodation)
These expansive views across the Byron coastline also make for a truly memorable dining location and Blackbird’s intimate, communal table dinner experiences are a must-do.
Taste the tweed
A short distance further north from Byron and you’ll enter another collection of sparkling seaside villages, riverside towns and hinterland hamlets in the Tweed. And in the postcard-perfect suburb of Cabarita Beach (halfway between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast) sits one of Australia’s most hyped boutique hotels in recent years — Halycon House.

Opposite sits modern “Italian-ish” restaurant No 35 Kitchen and Bar where small plates including local burrata, house made pasta and locally-caught seafood, delights diners.
Another winner is Tweed River House. Sitting on the riverbanks of the beautiful tweed river in Murwillumbah with sweeping views of Mount Wollumbin and Hinterland ranges, this century-old white weatherboard former homestead is now a lauded eatery serving tasty modern Australian.

But undoubtedly the best dining experience in the Tweed is Pipit where each guest is served the restaurant’s signature degustation menu that showcases the absolute best of the region’s farmers and growers — most within a mere 15 minutes’ drive. Pipit is small but has already accrued serious column inches nationally and overseas, which is partly down to its resident celebrity chef — and former Noma Copenhagen staffer — Ben Devlin.

To offset the calorie intake — and for general gorgeousness — hit the saddle and bike one of the newest attractions in the region: the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. A scenic and historic trail that takes in some of the best bits of the Northern Rivers, cyclists can traverse dense rainforest, serene farmland, rolling hills and old railway tunnels filled with glowworms.

There’s also a wealth of stops en route, from cheese tasting to natural wine, to make sure you’re properly fed and watered.

Our showbiz version of the World Cup has arrived – we are, of course, talking about the Met Gala.
The annual Vogue extravaganza is pretty much a fashion playground, with tradition flying out of the window as some of the biggest stars don their most elaborate finery to celebrate the museum’s Costume Institute.
For 2024, the title of the new exhibition is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, referencing how the exhibition finds unique ways to showcase clothing that has been declared too fragile to ever be worn again.
In a nod to the Met Museum’s latest exhibit, the dress code for the night was The Garden of Time, showcasing the beauty of nature and garments.
While the Met Gala was attended by Hollywood’s finest, including Zendaya, Lana Del Rey, Jennifer Lopez and Ed Sheeran, it was a non-celebrity who stole the show according to fans on social media.
Enter Norwegian billionaire Gustav Magnar Witzøe, 31, who owes his riches to salmon fish farming company SalMar Asa.
Gustav looked regal in a nude, diamond-studded bodysuit complete with a huge peach-pink cape and floral headdress.

@iamurvillain also said: ‘I need more men to dress like this please and thank you.’
Pamela Anderson was among the celebrities who opted for an ethereal look in keeping with the theme, wearing a nude Grecian-style dress and diamonds.
However, fans will notice she has paired her look with natural make-up after previously deciding to go bare-faced.
The Baywatch star explained she ditched the mascara and lipstick after the death of her make-up Alexis Vogel.

‘And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,’ she previously told Elle Magazine.

It wasn’t her clothing that had people talking, though, but more so how ‘snatched’ her figure was, to the point where her waist was barely visible.
Taking to X, user stephthesaint wrote: ‘omg kim where’s ur waist??’
‘Kim said waist where????’, wrote thehoodhewchie.
Others branded her waist ‘crazy’ and joked that she ‘left her waist at home’.
User giasm_ wrote: ‘one thing kim K gon do is cinch her waist okayy’.
The couture corset that’s got everyone talking was ‘rewoven from antique silver brocade’, according to a press release, while her skirt is ‘tooled silver metal evoking lace, flowers, leaves and sprigs interlinked with silver chain and floral motifs cut from mirror fragments, as well as crystal pendants, pearls and set like a piece from high-jewellery.’

Of course, Kim was far from the only A-lister at the starry bash, which also included Camila Cabello – with this year’s most unusual accessory.
The singer took a frozen ice block containing a single rose as her handbag on the night and explained she was ‘trying things’ when asked about the unusual choice.
Speaking further about her outfit she told Extra TV: ‘ I feel like it is impermanence and things decaying over time and the beauty in that, so there are sort of rips toward the ends of my dress.’
Ariana Grande was another celebrity who turned heads the Met Gala, who came back for only her second appearance at the glitzy event.

The Eternal Sunshine hitmaker has only been to the event once before, in 2018, so it’s safe to say the internet went into meltdown when her appearance was confirmed.
Looking every inch the celestial dream, Ari channelled her Wicked character Glinda in an ethereal Michael Anthony look.
The most prominent feature of her look was a pair of 3D wings, which were handmade.
Speaking to Vogue, the designer said: ‘Ari trusted me with the process of designing ethereal petal wings that we placed on the temples.’

She attended with Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the upcoming Wicked movie adaptation, with the musical theatre icon baring her abs in a unique tux ensemble embellished with pink flowers.
Speaking of baring skin…

As for the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibition, the display of around 200 fragile and rare pieces will run from May 10 until September 2.
Speaking ahead of the big night, Dame Anna told Today that ‘the idea of Sleeping Beauties is taking these masterpieces from different periods.’
‘And because so many of them are very fragile, and have to be laid flat, they can’t even be displayed on a mannequin or in any other way,’ she said.
‘They are laid flat, behind a glass wall, and around them are the inspirations that are muses, as (curator Andrew Bolton) calls them.’

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga amps it up with stunts for its cast, including Anya Taylor-Joy (Picture: Jasin Boland/Warner Bros)
Director George Miller’s brutal, dystopian view of the world presented in his Mad Max prequel Furiosa is stacked with stunts and impressive action sequences – and the filmmaker knew of the very real risk to life and limb.
For the fifth film in the Australian director’s series – launched back in 1979 with Mel Gibson in the title role – it’s Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth leading the cast into the unforgiving Wasteland.
But safety was paramount for Miller and his crew.
‘Every day we all wake up, especially George, with the reality that we could injure somebody or kill somebody,’ admitted producer Doug Mitchell to Metro.co.uk and other titles at the Cannes press conference for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Emphasising the preparation that went into the long-gestating film, he added: ‘The stunt department isn’t just there, as talented as they all are, to madly do something – this is broken down from the get-go. It has a tremendous amount of infrastructure underneath it.’
Furiosa’s 264-strong crew of stunt men and women battled Covid, bad weather and exhaustion, as well as filming one sequence alone that took 79 days to shoot.
Up Next
‘Our one priority, led by George, is not to injure anybody. That’s our first responsibility. The second is to make the film really enjoyable,’ said Mitchell.
The film’s 28-year-old leading lady interjected: ‘It doesn’t make any sense how safe this film was!’
Taylor-Joy also praised Furiosa’s ‘absolutely unbelievable stunt department’ and how they helped her fulfil her promise to Miller to perform as many stunts as she could while playing the renegade warrior in her younger years.
‘When George and I first had a conversation, it was very important to him that I was willing to throw myself into it as much as I possibly could.
‘But even if you are throwing yourself into it as much as you possibly can, there’s somebody that has tested that, that has taught you how to do it,’ she explained.

She also praised the team for encouraging her when it came to filming the stunt-filled scenes, rather than making the set ‘an environment of aggression’.
‘[Stunt people] are so wonderful and so incredible – and you know what, the best people on set. Easy. Always!,’ the actress added.

Her co-star Chris Hemsworth is physically transformed for his role as Dementus, a harsh and unpredictable warlord, with a bushy beard, prosthetic nose and dodgy teeth.
Discussing his approach to he character, who is worlds away from his career-making performance as Thor in the Marvel movies, Hemsworth, 40, said he wanted to ‘lean into the absurdity’.

‘We wanted to lean into the polarity of him and have him be contradictory and hopefully surprising.’
Although the actor was attracted by Dementus’ ‘villainous persona’ initially, he explained that it was very important for both himself and Miller ‘to find the humanity in the character, and to sprinkle in moments of vulnerability’.
‘To understand that he, too, was a product of the Wasteland, he too had suffered tremendously and had a traumatic past.’

‘There are certainly other stories there. Mainly because in order to tell the story of Fury Road, we had to know the backstory of Furiosa and Max in the year before,’ said Miller when asked if he might revisit Mad Max again in the future.
‘That was a tool for the cast and crew. We know the Max story from the year before. I’ll definitely wait to see how this goes, before we even think about it.’
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is out in UK cinemas on Friday, May 24.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a triumphant addition to the franchise (Picture: Jasin Boland)
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the dirty, daring and dystopian hope to buoy this summer’s box office, on the back of a 45-year-old franchise, an untested action heroine and Chris Hemsworth stepping outside the long shadow of Thor.
Warner Bros is willing the movie to be a hit, and it has a lot to live up to as the fifth Mad Max movie and follow-up to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, which netted six Oscars out of an impressive ten nominations – alongside a healthy box office performance.
Luckily, Furiosa delivers all the pulse-pounding action and adventure hoped for, given extra edge by its stellar cast, led by Anya Taylor-Joy.
Telling the origin story of renegade warrior and soon-to-become Imperator Furiosa, who was introduced by Charlize Theron in Fury Road alongside Tom Hardy’s version of Mel Gibson’s original character Max Rockatansky, the film kicks off in high gear with her kidnap from her secluded and verdant home by a biker horde.
Furiosa is fortunate enough to have grown up in ‘a place of abundance’, as is wondrously repeated by her abductors as they zoom across the unforgiving Wasteland to tell their leader, Dr Dementus (Hemsworth).
The youngster knows the importance of keeping this secret, though, and across the film’s span of nearly two decades, never gives up hope of returning.

Anya Taylor-Joy only has approximately 30 lines of dialogue in the film, despite being the lead (Picture: Jasin Boland)
However, the intervening years are not kind to young Furiosa, who suffers through the trauma of losing her mother, living in a cage, and escaping a harem – plus, we eventually discover the grimace-inducingly brutal way in which she loses her arm.
It’s a full hour before Anya Taylor-Joy appears on screen, with the young iteration of Furiosa played by an impressively soulful Alyla Browne.
Taylor-Joy may be stepping into her first action role for Furiosa, but it fits like a glove for an actress who can say so much with her eyes and only has around 30 lines of dialogue.

Her Furiosa is ferocious; a simmering volcano with more resilience than any of the men fighting over leadership and resources around her.
She comfortably proves herself capable of leading the latest entry in George Miller’s longstanding and beloved film franchise, but Hemsworth’s unexpectedly charming villain almost steals the film out from under her.
Hemsworth is wild and unhinged as Dementus (fittingly), off the Marvel leash that made him appear rather a straight-laced actor. That is not the case here as he alternately twinkles and rages as a vicious but desperate leader.

He’s also transformed by a faintly ridiculous prosthetic nose and dodgy teeth, teamed with a wiry beard, that all seems slightly at odds with the still gleamingly smooth skin of his superhero-sized biceps.
But with Dementus a man of such inconsistencies, it doesn’t matter too much. After all, he’s likely going to be too busy distracting audiences with his sampling of a ‘human blood sausage’ or getting his nipples ripped off.

As the latter suggests, Furiosa does not skimp on bloodthirsty violence. Miller manages to wield it with impressive precision, allowing the characters’ experiences to resonate without ever seeming gratuitous.
Miller has acknowledged that it took until this film for it to be allowed to be as Australian as it is, with British actor Tom Burke displaying pleasingly natural-sounding Aussie tones.
Many actors and crew members have also returned, some out of retirement, to support Miller in this triumphant prequel, which shows there’s still plenty of story left to tell in his version – and vision – of a post-apocalyptic Australian Outback.

Flashing a smile at the camera in a video – and looking noticeably different – he informed someone out of shot: ‘No, they’re way too big, I can’t speak.
‘They don’t really fit, just falling off and stuff.’
Side note: How does he still manage to look ridiculously handsome with a smile full of grim fake teeth?
Alongside the clip, Chris wrote: ‘Early stage makeup tests for Dr Dementus were a lotta fun #MADMAXFURIOSA.’
Fans couldn’t get enough of the transformation, voicing their surprise at what a difference his new gnashers make.
Plemp2020 replied: ‘Adorable… makes him look like a naughty 6 years old in daycare. Glad they went other way with the choices…’

Eric.P.Hall agreed: ‘It’s AMAZING how different you look with just the bigger teeth!! So crazy!!’
However, many, many more still couldn’t help but thirst over Chris even when he looked totally different.
Sanara1725 praised: ‘Still a looker with those bunny chompers.’

Melissa Cainey penned: ‘He even looks sexy like this!’
As Rianaapplegryn added: ‘Nope, still handsome, but nice try.’

Furiosa is finally flying into cinemas this week, and is the fifth Mad Max movie – serving as both a follow-up and a prequel to 2015 instalment, Fury Road, which starred Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
It tells the origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa, with Tom Burke and Alyla Browne also in the cast, and George Miller directing.
Chris recently shed light on his on-screen transformation in a new interview, explaining that the changes helped him ‘get out of the way’ of himself on set.
Speaking to MovieMaker, he said: ‘The nose, the beard, the kind of wig, all the prosthetics and the costume, everything was just, look — any of that helps you get out the way of yourself.
Chris normally scrubs up very well (Picture: Getty)
‘The more you can cut loose of yourself and be completely taken on a journey through what the hair and makeup, costume, the sets, have to offer — it makes your job so much easier.
‘Look at these costumes, look at these sets. We just gotta not screw up our lines now and not get in the way of it all.
‘So it was like an another prop, all of it. And when I would look in the mirror, I’d go, “I don’t see myself anymore. This is a great thing.” So then you start to think differently, start reacting differently, and there’s a knock on effect to that.’

Ed Sheeran has surprised fans with a special performance from a beloved A-lister (Picture: Simone Joyner/Getty Images)
Ed Sheeran’s concerts often leave fans in awe, and last night he left them with their jaws on the floor after he was joined by none other than Chris Hemsworth.
The English singer-songwriter, 33, is currently touring Europe as part of his Mathematics Tour 2024, and while performing in Romania on Saturday night, he treated fans to an unexpected guest.
Performing to an estimated 70,000 fans at Romania’s National Arena, the four-time Grammy winner was in the middle of playing his 2014 song Thinking Out Loud when he made a surprise announcement.
‘He’s been on stage playing with us for the whole time, playing in time,’ Ed grinned. ‘Will you make some noise for Chris Hemsworth!’
The crowd immediately erupted into cheers and the Thor actor smiled fondly and continued on with the show.
Once the song was finished, Ed asked the crowd once more to ‘make some noise’ for the actor, who then joined his friend centre stage to take it all in.

A clip of the moment was shared to Ed’s Instagram account and shows what happened after the show, with the singer telling a nervous looking Chris, 40, that he ‘did really well’.
He then presented his long-time friend with a participation award, telling him, ‘One for the man cave.’
The Australian star smiled as he declared it a ‘sick’ award and burst into laughter when Ed read out the plaque, which noted it was for ‘drumming excellence’.
‘That’s awesome’, the star told the Shape of You singer.
Fans quickly took to the comment section to share their excitement over Chris’ performance, with dremab71 writing: ‘Wow epic!! Looks incredible and sounds like he nailed it 🔥🙌’

teddysphotos_uk commented: ‘Go Chris goooooooo!!!⚡️ He was wonderful!! I think he deserves a permanent spot in the band🔥😍’
While another, mirunamusic was distraught they had missed the special moment: ‘CHRIS PLAYING DRUMS IN BUCHAREST AND IT’S THE ONE SHOW I MISS WHAT TFFFFFF’
Elsewhere, one fan suggested the collaboration needs to be repaid now. Rrrpm24 wrote: ‘ok Ed now it’s your turn.. try something new to backup Chris in some way lol .. wish I could have seen it better it was #MARVELous ❤️’
Chris’ performance may have come as a complete surprise to fans, but it was revealed in the short behind-the-scenes clip that the actor had been learning the drums since December for this exact moment.
The star, who is currently working on season two of his Disney Plus documentary series, Limitless With Chris Hemsworth, reached out to Ed after learning music, or more specifically, learning an instrument can help with cognitive function.

Chris’ documentary series follows the actor as he works with world-class experts, family, and friends and pushes himself to new limits, trying to outrun the side effects of old age.
In season one of the show, the father of three discovered that he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene after undergoing genetic testing.
The gene can be a marker for developing Alzheimer’s disease in the future, however, it is not a diagnosis.
Alzheimer’s disease is where the brain function deteriorates as cells shrink and die, impacting someone’s memory, thinking, behaviours and social skills.
Since receiving the news, Chris has worked hard on his brain health and his performance with Ed is just another way of doing so.

Here’s why Transformers One is the perfect film to entertain the whole family this half-term…
It’s the ultimate origin story for Transformers fans
For the uninitiated, the fully CG-animated Transformers movie delves into the origins of the iconic characters Optimus Prime and Megatron, who you may know now as sworn enemies and leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons, respectively.
Here, we go back to the beginning, when they were actually the best of friends.
Follow the evolution of their relationship; a friendship that went on to change the fate of Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers, forever.
Up Next
The rivalry between the two characters may be the stuff of legend now, but rewind to the beginning and we find dreamer Orion-Pax and his rule-following best friend D-16 (that’s Optimus Prime and Megatron…), joined by Elita-1 and Bumblebee, as they come together on a quest that will define the future of their civilisation forever.
Sounds serious, but this movie has something for everyone, with plenty of gripping action bolstered by CG animation not even our wildest imagination could replicate, laugh-out-loud comedy and heartwarming moments that’ll move you.
It boasts some serious star power
The film is led by superstars Chris Hemsworth and Bryan Tyree Henry, who play our protagonists, Orion-Pax and D-16, respectively. They’re joined by Scarlett Johansson as the plucky Elita-1, and Keegan-Michael Key as the entertaining, resilient and lovable Bumblebee (or, ‘Badassatron’).
The ensemble cast doesn’t stop there, with talent including Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm lending their recognisable voices to Starscream, Alpha Trion and Sentinel Prime.

Still, it’s not just the all-star cast that gives this film its might, but a team of powerhouse producers, including Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, and executive producer Steven Spielberg, while the film was directed by award-winning Josh Cooley.
You don’t need to be a Transformers mega-fan to enjoy it
Don’t fear, you don’t need to have prior knowledge of the franchise to follow every pivotal moment, with the origin story an accessible take for both newcomers and long-time fans alike.
As a self-contained story focused on the early relationship between these well-known characters, Transformers One makes a great entry point for anyone new to the wider universe.
It’ll hook a whole new legion of fans!

The action is out of this world
From phenomenal animation that shows you a version of Cybertron yet to be seen on the big screen, to incredible sequences that’ll have you on the edge of your seat until the very end, this is a must-see for lovers of action.
You may have seen a Transformers film before, but this is a truly fresh take on the franchise the whole family will love.
And if the early reviews are anything to go on, the film is a hit! Family-focused website Kidzcoolit labelled Transformers On ‘an instant classic’, giving it 5 stars and saying it’s ‘the perfect family entertainment for the big screen’.
Echoing similar sentiments, Film News gave it 4 stars and mused the film ‘successfully captures the essence of what a Transformers film should be—fun, action-packed, and full of heart’, while Comicbook added it is ‘one of the best Transformers movies to date, injecting new life into the franchise in an unexpected way’.
